A group of talented high school baseball players from around the State of Hawaii have been selected to play in two, high profile tournaments this Summer on the Mainland. Getting exposure is what it's all about and living in Hawaii doesn't help. These Summer Tournaments give Hawaii's players national exposure to college coaches & pro scouts, while they compete against top teams and players from around the US.

The 6th Annual "Omaha Slump Busters National Tournament from Triple Crown" is
expecting over 450 teams from 40+ states, held between June 23 - 27, 2008 in Omaha, Nebraska.
It is held at the same time (and place) as the 2008 College World Series. This tournament attracts college coaches from all over the country and there is a 4 game guarantee. This is one of the world's largest tournaments and offers some of the best and most diverse competition in the nation. Both players and parents will be able to experience the 2008 College World Series and see the nation's best teams.
The West Coast MVP Black Team roster consists of 1 player from North Carolina, 4 players from California and 8 players from Hawaii, including:
Maui High School: Mitchell Crim (Sr.), Joshua Gascon (Jr.) & Joaquin Babauta (Sr.)
Radford High School: Matthew Tsuneda (Sr.)
Pearl City High School: Micah Nakasone (Jr.) & Duane Kiyota (Sr.)
St. Anthony HS (Maui): Michael Jahns (Sr.)
Castle High School: Kristopher Kahanu (Sr.)
The West Coast MVP Black Team will be coached by:
Tony Cougoule - current college coach Azusa Pacific University
Bill Bowman - former pro scout Oakland A's and pro player Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals.


Called the "Most competitive tournament of the summer" is the "WWBA 17U/2009 National Championships." It takes place from: July 8 - 14, 2008 in Marietta, Georgia.
With hundreds of college coaches & pro scouts in attendance each year, there is guaranteed college exposure for the All Stars. Playing against the Nation's best travel teams, this "Wood Bat" tournament will help prepare the players for college baseball. Nowhere in the country is college exposure more prevalent than here. The who's-who of baseball, from players, teams,
coaches, and scouts attend this event. Over 150 17U teams signed up for this tournament in 2007.
The West Coast MVP Black Team roster consists of 6 players from North Carolina, 5 players from California and 5 players from Hawaii, including:
Maui High School: Jordan Agcaoili (Sr.), Peter Ibanez (Jr.), Jordan Inamasu (Jr.)
Kamehameha (Maui): Naea Kalehuawehe (Jr.)
Waipahu High School: Kaimi Haina (Jr.)
St. Anthony HS (Maui): Ryan Rodriguez (Jr.)
The West Coast MVP Black Team will be coached by:
